SLEAZE BALL IS BACK!!!
After a year-long hiatus and under a new production team, Sleaze Ball returnED to the Nietzsche’s stage on Friday, June 27.
Coming back during pride month wasn’t the original plan… along with the first theme being all about the women, the girls, the femme icons, and the queer figureheads of indie sleaze – initially, we were going to throw our third Anthems party in celebration of Charli xcx. But doing Queens of Indie Sleaze feLT like an appropriate way to incorporate the vibrancy of an Anthems party, keep the foundational mission statement of Sleaze in tact, and reintroduce the party to new friends and old friends alike.
Without women, queer people, and those that fall in between, this era of music and culture that we celebrate wouldn’t be as colorful, fun, and memorable (especially since many of the genres that encapsulate indie sleaze are essentially predominantly men or male-fronted bands/groups). Ironically enough, that’s also been the demographic of Sleaze since the start… so this one’s WAS for OUR SLEAZEHEADS for all of THE support.
